Bass response is quite good, IMHO, if a nice balanced sound is what you're after. It has more than adequate volume with the top down, and sound quality remains very good. I have not gotten the Bose to distort at VERY LOUD levels. Sound quality of that system is pretty good, but top down at speed it is marginal on power, even turning up the volume in the headrest speakers. Mine is a 7-8 year old Alpine aftermarket system, 4x25 watts, Alpine door speakers with additional Kenwood speakers in the headrests of a Miata.
